Tranquility is generally achieved through calming surroundings which negate any harsh external stimuli. A soothing way to exclude oneself from the world may include total immersion into one’s own mind and body. Depicted in the image the woman is able to achieve a state of calm and serenity by submersing herself in a pool of flora, effectively detaching herself from the outside world. The creation, the life, the power…the water is filled with tremendous energy. It is the winner of pleasure and delight, it gives life, but also poses a risk, threat, it can destroy us. I love the transparency and purity of water, light and reflecting and transformations that is suffered in contact with another medium .

Krystal ( Model ) said ” Shooting in the water was an exhilarating experience. Though the outcome looks graceful and tranquil, the process was a bit grueling. Growing up, I swam almost daily so I could call myself an expert (self-proclaimed). I can tackle all of the swimming techniques, but this particular shoot required self restraint. Trying to remain in the same position and location while underwater was frustrating due to the flow that water naturally creates. To accomplish the shoot, I submerged myself underwater and only left the surface of my face exposed. The most difficult part was trying to remain in a straight position as though I were laying down. The photographer had a 10 second time frame before my body moved and sunk towards the bottom of the pool. Though difficult, the shoot was enjoyable and relaxing. I would love to take part in many more similar experiences “.
